Grundsätzlich kann ich die Klinik guten Gewissens empfehlen. Herr Dr. Tvaruzek hat sich sehr persönlich um meine Belange gekümmert und stand mir jederzeit für Fragen zur Verfügung. Die Klinik arbeitet professionell, man merkt, dass man sich hier nicht in einer Art Beautyklinik mit OP Tisch befindet, sondern in einem Krankenhaus mit komplettem Klinikbetrieb. Dies ist gut zu wissen, ….sollten Komplikationen auftreten. Allerdings habe ich davon nichts gehört und ich selbst kann nur berichten, dass alles reibungslos und ohne Komplikationen verlief. Einzig die Englischkenntnisse (idealerweise deutsch) der Schwestern sollten etwas verbessert werden. Dies wäre hier und da doch hilfreich.

I went to Praga Medica for lens replacement surgery in May 2016. Everything went well and the eyes seem to be healing fine. Rita and Lenka, my initial points of contact, were easy to deal with and arranged hotel, transport and my itinerary for me. Would definitely recommend Praga Medica for similar surgery.

I recently used Praga Medical to arrange tummy tuck surgery. The pre-surgery information and liaison was second to none and couldn’t be faulted, and the support in Prague prior to surgery was superb.
However, unfortunate circumstances meant that I was unsupported in leaving the clinic after surgery and at my check up in the clinic a week later. Neither of these were a huge problem but I was left feeling very vulnerable having to make my way back to my hotel on my own just two days after major surgery in a city I didn’t know, with a taxi driver that couldn’t speak English. (Edit following businesses response — I was alone. My partner had not yet arrived in Prague when I was discharged. The agency was well aware of this! Really, not the best service, and some might say intolerable.)
However, follow up emails and information was great, the clinic they recommended exceeded my expectations and the hotel was perfectly acceptable.
Overall an OK experience.

I’d highly recommend Praga Medica for LASIK. I chose the Relex Smile option and I am very pleased with the results. I saved thousands of euro and it was a pain-free and interesting experience.

In particular the agent Jana Kachlova and interpreter Monika (from Slovakia) were outstanding. All questions were promptly answered and I felt in good hands and supported throughout from first email contact right through the process.

The first day was tests, the second the treatment and third the checkup. My vision outcome is not quite 20/20 but fully functional in general (it was -5:00 in each eye before treatment). The option I chose also comes with a lifetime guarantee.

The clinic is easily found and near a shopping centre and tram line. I’d suggest the Panorama Hotel as the best nearby. I stayed at Hotel Oya which is also close enough. It was just a bit soulless and dull.

Very pleased with the proceedure : anyone that is thinking of eye correction hesitate not : they totally look after you from the moment you step off the plane to the time you fly home : A very proffesional outfit : I am soooooooo chuffed had a great time and a Great result and saved a chunk of cash ……….

We have been to Praga Medica twice now for IVF. The first time was not successful, however the second time was and we are now pregnant.

All through both processes Jana looked after us very well, going well beyond her role as coordinator / translator. She made sure we considered every last detail to ensure our trip from overseas was seamlessly organised, including providing us with directions on how to transfer from the airport to the clinic, and offering to arrange accommodation and use of a mobile phone while in Prague.

The doctors at the clinic speak English, and the clinical staff speak a few words (enough to get your message across). They are all very efficient and make sure you are comfortable and well looked after, which is consistent with all Czechs I had the pleasure of meeting.

My personal preference was for my female doctor, Dr Monika Polakova. I credit her gentle nature and confidence for our success second time round.

One issue which I now consider a lesson learned is that the clinic freezes all embryos left from a fresh cycle together. This meant that I had no choice but to unfreeze all three remaining embryos and transfer the two viable ones which made it through the thaw. My specialist in Australia was dismayed that we were not given a choice, since it is protocol here to freeze all embryos separately. Her concern was the risk twins might have placed on my health. Also it would have been my preference to freeze the embryos separately since now I have no remaining embryos from this donor, and no chance for our child to have a genetically matched sibling. If I do have another round of IVF, I will know to ask to freeze the embryos separately.

Otherwise, Prague itself is a very beautiful city, so it was a pleasure rather than inconvenience that we found ourselves spending a few days waiting between appointments. The transit system is one of the most efficient and easy to get around on. There are many grocery stores and restaurants so it was no problem finding a great variety of food. And the demand for freshness and taste is apparent. I had forgotten what ‘farm fresh’ tasted like after so long.

My experience of dealing with Praga Medica was very positive.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Petra, who was always on hand to answer my questions in the initial stages, via phone and email. All aspects of the procedure were explained clearly, including the breakdown of the cost.

Petra arranged my Hotel for the first night and their driver John was waiting for me at the airport when I landed, to take me to the Hotel. All of which was greatly appreciated.

On the morning of my surgery, Petra met me at the Hotel and took me to the clinic where I met the doctor and had all of the necessary tests done. Everything went very smoothly and the nurses at the clinic were wonderful.

The day after my surgery, Petra came to the clinic and accompanied me on the walk back to my Hotel. I had some further questions the next day, so called Petra on her mobile and she was more than happy to help and give advice, which again, was greatly appreciated.

On my last day, their driver John came and picked me up from the centre of Prague and took me to the airport, which was a great help.

I was very familiar with Prague, having lived there previously but I still appreciated the personal touch and contact I received with Praga Medica. I would envisage that for those patients who may be less familiar, the service provided would be invaluable.

The only small negative I would have would be the lack of a follow up from Praga Medica or the clinic. In the 4 weeks since my operation, I’ve had no after care or progress check from either, which is disappointing.

On the grand scheme of things, however, this is a minor issue and I would highly recommend Praga Medica to all consumers.

I was very happy with the service I received from praga medica however, there is still room for improvement!

Everything leading up to my procedure was good but once I arrived in Prague I felt the service dropped- I was told somebody would meet me at the clinic at 8am on the morning of my examination but nobody from praga medica was there to meet me. The first time anyone introduced themselves from praga medica was just before the payment process which could have been bad timing. Having no one to greet me was fine as I am a confident person who had no anxieties about the forthcoming process however, somebody who lacked confidence and was maybe feeling anxious about the procedure may have had a different view to me. I also had to chase up confirmation on the morning of my departure with regards to my return taxi to the airport, albeit the taxi was provisionally booked it did state on the itinerary it was TBC so I was still expecting a message confirming the collection pick up time. I hope that a couple of honest comments still does not retract from my positive experience with praga medica.

A 100% professional experience. Excellent communication from Zuzana via WhatsApp, and a brilliant surgeon in Pete, who was wonderfully calm during my trifocal lens procedure. Even the cuddly toy was a lovely, if surprising, gesture!

Praga Medica was an excellent clinic to deal with. Dr Alexander was very straight forward and efficient. All of my communications with the clinic were through our coordinator Blanka. Sandra was informative prior to arriving and put my mind at ease. Everyone at the Neovise clinic were lovely. It’s a very busy place so there’s a bit of waiting on your first visit. The pre assessment I felt was quite basic in relation to the one I had in the UK and the rooms where equipment was in had a constant traffic and doors opening,people rushing past, whilst you were being tested on machines that needed a dark room, Like I say, busy. The assessment I had originally in the UK had around 13 machines and this experience was more like a standard eye test at Specsavers. I felt confident though due to the results being the same outcome so I’m glad I’d explored RLE before I went to Prague or I think I’d have worried it was basic for a pre op. I felt a little bit intimidated at the consultation part as I had a few questions and the consultant laughed a few times after my questions and spoke animatedly to my interpreter in Czech which made me feel really uncomfortable. It may have been nothing but felt that my questions were daft or something so it made me reluctant to ask anymore to her. I covered them off afterwards. The end of assessment and decision time, I felt under pressure and made me anxious. I wanted to explore the laser incision a little more but I felt a bit rushed to sign up and pay. Lucas was standing over me as I was in a room with a lady typing up contracts and taking payment, but I guess the clinic is so busy, they are trying to navigate the next person. The operation day, again, you feel like you’re on a wheel as so many people are sitting waiting for their op and getting eye drops in a cycle together but in some ways, I felt it desensitised the situation and I didn’t feel as nervous talking to people waiting for the same thing. Thomas was lovely and kept popping back to talk things through to prepare us. I asked him a lot of questions and he was calm and happy to reassure even though it was so busy. Operating team were fab and my surgeon spoke English which really helped. Procedure in both eyes at the same time was quick and the theatre was high tech and spotless. After the procedure you just basically get dressed and you go. I think I would have preferred for my one taxi they provide to be after the procedure as I felt a bit all over the place and overwhelmed and couldn’t see properly which was a bit unnerving. No one offered to call a taxi which was a similar experience after the assessment, the after the appointment/op part could do with a little bit more aftercare. I returned early morning the next day which was only 18 hours after the op and the consultant was lovely. She seemed to be happy with my eyes — didn’t give much away. She was less concerned about being as careful as I was told to be and said that I could go back the gym after a week or so, but I had been told by someone else to leave it until my 4 week eye testing so a bit disjointed in that sense which left me confused. Was there for 10 mins and that was it, done. All pretty straight forward. I am almost 4 weeks after the procedure now and my eyesight has significantly improved. It’s still blurry and find myself squinting a lot, light sensitivity is still an issue and halos haven’t reduced at all so driving as when cloudy and cars have headlights on it in the dark isn’t an option yet. I have my eye test in the UK in a few days and I’m keen for someone to look at my eyes. Since my follow up at the clinic I’ve had no communication with Praga Medica until today apart from when I contacted them as was a bit worried at 2 weeks as didn’t know what to expect. The fantastic aftercare that I read about in reviews has been none existent until today, 4 weeks later, asking me for a review. This was my concern about going overseas but I’ve got in with it as it was my choice. Overall the experience was good. Just a little fine tuning and some thought into aftercare.
