I got an eye surgery about 6 weeks ago with Praga Medica. I´m very satisfied about the whole process, from the preparation to the medical stuff, the equipment and the assistance. I experienced no pains both during and after the surgery and the recovery went smoothly. The only point to improve are prices, which I find ultimately too high for a surgery in a country where salaries are a fraction of the ones in the Western European countries. Either than that, I would recommend Praga Medica to a friend.

From initial contact with the clinic to the procedure itself, the communication and care from Praga Medica was excellent. My contact, Blanka, was brilliant. She speaks perfect English and quickly responded to any enquiry by email or phone call. She was with me throughout the whole process, meeting me for appointments and showing me where to go. Gest clinic is in a residential area in Praha 5 and it has a lovely personal feel to it. It’s small, modern and clean with very friendly staff. Dr. Monika Polakova, was good at explaining the process and I especially like the fact that she concentrated on the positives rather than the negatives. We’re now waiting to find out if the treatment was successful. I would definitely recommend Praga Medica to anyone considering IVF in Prague.

Happy with medical professionalism, very comprehensive testing of my vision. No issues with treatment/ops, laser recommended, no pain.
Admin generally very good re payments, hotels, taxi and personal service from Katrina, in all a bargain buy when compared to UK and more effective and efficient and timely than NHS.
My only disappointment was my eyes were not suitable for full correction, so now need reading glasses, but distance vision clear and still adjusting. Maybe this ‘risk’ should be more clear in the literature, web site etc. but well worth exploring for eye ops and maybe other treatments they offer, even despite sterling rates fallen because of Brexit good deal and Prague is comparatively cheap place to stay, eat, shop etc

Breast lift + implants August 2020.

Booking process was quick and easy.
Arrived a day before surgery for tests — no issues.
Given all paperwork to read and sign.
Had a consultation with Dr.Pilka to discuss what size implants I wanted etc.
The consultation was quick however it’s because I knew what I wanted and had done my research, if you aren’t sure make sure you go over everything you want as dr pilka just wants you to be happy and is there to advise you.

Surgery day I was told to come in at 9am on an empty stomach and my surgery didn’t actually go ahead until about 2pm I would say this was one of the downfalls as I was left waiting starving for ages however not a major issue.

Woke up from surgery already In my room rather then a recovery room but again no issues, nurses attended straight away with some strong painkiller in a drip, dr.pilka was also there about 5 mins after I woke up checking and making sure that my breasts were fine, he did this about 3 times after surgery.

The only thing I was upset about is that I was extremely unwell from the anaesthetic and felt sick and was vomiting, my husband went to ask the nurse for some anti Sickness medication and she just said what was happening was normal, I know it’s normal but I needed something to help me stop feeling so sick. Anyway I didn’t get to have anything and the sickness went away the next day.

The next day
8am nurse came in with pills and breakfast, 8:30 Dr.Pilka came in took the bandages and drains off put a special bra on and gave me my discharge papers.

The nurses were very attentive and came in the night to ask if I needed help going to the toilet etc. Although I was in pain I was able to walk to the toilet myself so no issues there.

I had a little complication which is simply down to my body and nothing to do with how the surgery was done etc, Dr.pilka had me in everyday for check ups until I left to go back to the UK, I am still in close contact with lenka and dr.pilka.
Lenka has been amazing and has been there through the whole thing and even after.

I completed trusted dr.pilka who is an experienced and board certified surgeon and he did not disappoint me.

My outcome after surgery has been life changing and dr.pilka has completely transformed my breasts into something amazing.

I will be looking to change my implants to a bigger size in the next 5 years and I will 100% be going back to him again.

Had a good experience, the staff where very helpful and the service was very professional.

However I had to give 4 stars, because I had informed sales team I had previously PRK laser surgery performed and would like SMILE to be performed. They had written down I had performed LASIK instead.
This mistake meant I had to perform PRK (which takes a lot longer to recover from) even though I was advised LASIK would be carried out something I had not planned or prepared for.

The healing process has been good in left eye but only satisfactory in my right eye further contributing to my reason for dropping a star.

All that being said I do strongly recommend.

I had Relex Smile eye surgery, and I’m happy with the result.

The surgery itself was more uncomfortable than I had expected based on other people’s descriptions of their experiences. The communication just before and during the surgery felt a bit rushed, which may be an effect of the sedative drugs. I didn’t manage to insist on understanding what exactly was going to happen, and so I felt uncertain about what to do and where to look. This (I think) resulted in the surgeon having to redo the placement of the laser on one eye, leading to discomfort, a rather blurry vision and a bit of anxiety for the next few days. At my one week check-up, it turned out I had 1,0 vision on that eye and 1,2 on the other. Objectively that’s a great result, and now after a few weeks it’s not much of an issue anymore. But it is a noticable difference. I still experience scattering and halos at low light conditions on the left eye, and I can’t help but wonder whether that would have been the case if I’d had a better understanding of what to do during the surgery. I haven’t really heard of anyone else having this issue, so maybe it’s just me. But personally I would have liked to get instructions about what to do during the surgery before taking the sedative drugs. Additionally, I had a different surgeon than I was originally told I would have. Of course, both surgeons are very experienced, but one has done many more surgeries than the other. I was happy about the prospect of my surgery being done by the more experienced surgeon, but that turned out not to be the case after all.

That being said, the rest of the experience was unproblematic. Everyone at the clinic was nice, communication before the visit was impeccable and the result is good. There was a 40 minute wait for some of my appointments, but most were much shorter.
Overall I’m satisfied with the experience. Still, I think the issues I had could have been avoided without much extra effort from the clinic.

I was a bit nervous as I’m from the uk but Lenka was very nice and welcoming she helped me book flights/hotel etc. The hospital is very big and proper I didn’t know if it would be small or what to expect. I had a tummy tuck and liposuction all went well no problems after the only thing was the nurses when I stayed 2 nights in the hospital didn’t speak much English and I didn’t have any good painkillers but other than that it was a good Experiance and glad I done it here as I’ve had great results. It’s been 8 months since my surgery and am very happy with the results i would recommend coming here for surgery if you was looking somehere other than the uk.

After 3 years of TTC and unsuccessful Clomid/IUIs, we decided to move on to IVF. This was our first IVF and we decided to go with GEST because of the reviews. From the very first email the responsiveness and communication was great and timely. The transport package option was very helpful since it allowed me to focus on other things rather than getting to and from the airport in a foreign country and communicating with the office. I was always made to feel very welcome whenever I visited the facility and all the doctors I interacted with were very professional.

I was looking for liposuction in Prague, but found that it was extremely difficult to get in touch with any clinics as they did not respond to emails or even answer their phones. Prague Medica, and a lovely lady called Iveta, find all the information required, from a choice of clinics and surgeons, and even offer to help with transfers and accommodation if needed. And most importantly answered all of my many, many questions throughout the whole journey. A lady called Katja met me on the day of the procedure at the clinic which was extremely reassuring, especially when in a foreign country with potential language barriers, and stayed with me right up until it was time for me to go the room. Even after the discharge from the clinic, and in the days following, they are consistently checking on you and your recovery. Thank you for all your help!!!!

Allerdings finden wir, dass in den meisten Bewertungen nicht alles geschrieben wird, deswegen haben wir uns entschlossen etwas ins Detail gehen zu wollen.
1. die Vorbereitung, Voruntersuchung und Beratung war ganz Hevorragend, leider war unsere Dolmetscherin am ersten Tag etwas sprach faul,
2. erste OP auch hier lief alles prima ab, vor der zweiten OP stand noch eine Untersuchung des ersten Auges an.
3. Nachuntersuchung nach der zweiten OP, wir haben uns eigentlich während der gesamten Zeit sehr wohl gefühlt.
Normalerweise sagen sie, dass nach der letzten Untersuchung die Heimreise angetreten werden kann, wir haben Gott sei dank, noch einen weiteren Tag in Prag verbracht, dennoch war die Heimreise nicht unbedingt schön weil die Sicht auf die weite noch eingeschränkt war (es war auf die weite alles verschwommen)
4. die Tage danach waren mit Höhen und Tiefen, die Nahsicht war eigentlich gleich nach der OP ziemlich gut und wurde von Tag zu Tag immer besser, leider ist die Sicht auf die Ferne auch nach jetzt 5 Wochen noch nicht optimal, hängt aber auch mit dem Wetter zusammen, Trockenes Wetter hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit usw., das wurde uns aber in Prag auch gesagt, kann wohl bis zu einem halben Jahr anhalten, aber wie gesagt es wird besser
Fazit: Es ist trotz allem eine OP und doch würden wir es, trotz der Einschränkungen in den ersten Wochen wieder machen.

Good service. Only fault is the perception I had to get buy NEVANAC. Not told what is was for. Only info I got was from Chemist that wrote 2 times a day 3 weeks after op. It looks like I will run low on the MAXITROL.

My husband and I went to the clinic after I made contact with Blanka of PRAGA MEDICA. She was great! Everyone was. Even though there was a small communication gap, it was a truly amazing experience and I would recommend it for anyone. Also, Prague-beautiful!

Wir hatten mehrere erfolglose Versuche in Deutschland, uns wurde angeraten über eine Eizellspende nachzudenken. Nachdem wir eine erfolglose IVF mit Eizellspende in einer anderen Klinik hatten, haben wir uns dann für diese Klinik entschieden, einfach wegen der kürzeren Entfernung. Die Klinik macht von aussen einen nicht so tollen Eindruck, von innen ist sie aber wirklich top!
Die Beratung durch Dr. Alexander und seine Assistentin Jana war gut und ausführlich, vor allem immer freundlich. Wir hatten 6 sehr gute Embryonen wovon 4 kryokonserviert wurden. Ich musste mir keine Hormonspritzen geben sowie beim letzten Mal, dass fand ich gut, Tabletten sind mir lieber. Der Transfer war relativ schmerzfrei. Ich sollte danach 1 Stunde liegen was ich als angenehm empfand, danach ging es heim. Prag ist eine schöne Stadt, in der sich die 3 Tage bis zum Transfer gut verbringen liesen. Leider war der Versuch negativ und wir werden demnächst einen Kryoversuch starten. Die Klinik ist jedenfalls zu empfehlen.

I had both my eye lenses replaced with trifocals lenses and had the incision done by the laser. I was also told when i was in Prague i had stigmas in both eyes so needed special lenses which cost more. I paid 4400 Euro for the lenses and laser and an extra 750 Euro for the special shaped lenses.
The clinic is great, clean and nearly everyone speaks English. My contact was Helena who was very responsive. I actually had some friends who had used this clinic before and the surgeon so that is why i decided to have my eyes done here.
The only thing i would say is i feel they dont give you enough information about how you eyes will be afterwards and feel its a bit downplayed. i understand that everyone is different so i can only give my own review.
When i asked Helena how i would be after the operation, she said fine, i asked would i be able to go out for dinner with no problems, she said oh yes, but i wasn’t fine. I didn’t feel great and didn’t go out of the hotel most of the time i was there after my operations.
I am now in my forth week since i had my surgery and my eyes are sill not great. I have really bad sensitivity to light, so much so that i need to wear sunglasses even at night watching TV.
I work in front of a PC all day at work and its very hard all day with the lights on the office and the screens. Although i am not wearing glasses, my eyes are still extremely blurry and watering.
I did contact Praga Medica and they told me to see an optician here which i did. He prescribed two lots of eyes drops.
Im hoping this will get better as im sure i am still healing and maybe its worse for me as i work in an office. My eyes have just started to feel less scratchy with regards to the incisions and that is after a month.
The halos from any sorts of lights are not just at night as i was informed but during the day too. I have tried to drive but it feels really wrong and uncomfortable, luckily i have a partner who can drive me.
There was 3 other English people who i spoke to in the hotel who was also having their eyes done at Praga Medica, the man who also had the laser seemed to also be having problems afterwards to. Unfortunately i dont have anyone’s numbers so i cant ask them how they are. I think the healing is going to take a lot longer than i thought, maybe me being stupid but i did think my eyes wouldn’t be this bad a month on.
